Home of the Milton Keynes Deaf Astronomical Society (MKDAS),
advancing the education of the public in the subject of Astronomy.
MKDAS is a thriving deaf society located in Emberton, near Olney.

Friday 21st January – 2am
The Total Eclipse of the Moon will be visible over the UK,
we will be held at Emberton Country Park, Onley Road,
Emberton, near Olney, Milton Keynes, Bucks, MK46 5FJ.

Penumbral Eclipse begins
02:36am- The Earth’s penumbra start touching the Moon’s face.
Partial Eclipse begins
03:33am – Partial moon eclipse starts – moon is getting red.
Total Eclipse begins
04:41am – Total moon eclipse starts – completely red moon.
Maximum Eclipse begins
Moon is closest to the centre of the Earth’s shadow.
Total Eclipse ends
05:43am – Total Moon eclipses ends.
Partial Eclipse ends
06:50 – Partial Eclipse ends.
Penumbral Eclipse ends
The Earth’s penumbra ends, the Moon close to the horizon.

Friday 8th February – 10am till 6pm
Running trip to AstroFest at Kensington Town Hall
in London (afterwards – pub dinner).

Saturday 9th March – 10am-5pm
Running trip to Practical Astronomy Show*
at Kettering Conference Centre, Thurston Drive,
Kettering, Northamptonshire, NN15 6PB.
(*Free Entrance / afterwards – pub dinner)

Friday 5th April – 7pm
Observing the deep-sky objects in the
constellations of Leo, Coma Berenices, and Leo.

May, June, July and – August
No meeting events.

Saturday 28th September – one week
Running trip to British Deaf Astronomical Association
hold at Kelling Heath in North Norfolk for the main day
of astronomy stalls and talks and observing the night sky.

Saturday 12th October (10am – 6pm)
Running trip to International Astronomy Show (IAS)
at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, CV8 2LG,
afterwards the pub dinner at the Chef & Brewer,
Old Mill, Baginton, Coventry, CV8 3AH.
