Notes – Messier 31

-  M31, NGC224 (Andromeda galaxy)
-  extremely bright, large and elongdated.
-  visible to the naked eye.
-  a very impressive and stunning object
-  a pair of dak streaks near the brightest region are well seen in a 10-inch reflector telescope.
-  high maagnification will help bring out the tiny, starlike nucleus.
-  the largest galaxy in the local group about 25% larger than our own Milky Way.
-  its satellite galaxies include M32 and M110.
