April’s shooting stars

150422-008 April Lyrid Meteor Showers
Wednesday 22nd & Thursday 23rd April 2015
The Lyrid meteor shower – April’s shooting stars, about 10-20 meteors per hour can be expected at their peak to be seen by naked-eye.

The radiant for this shower is near the bright star Vega in the constellation Lyra, which rises in the northeast at about 22:00 / 10pm on April evenings.

The waxing crescent moon will set in the evening, leaving a dark for watching this year’s Lyrid shower, so good opportunity for photography.
