Neo-Clouds (Noctilucent Clouds or NLC)
Last weekend I captured this above image of a Neo-Clouds on 9th July 2010 at night – 22:35 / 10.35pm, this Neo-Clouds were in the form of waves and bands for a short period, low on the NorthWestern Horizon, they were bright electric blue clearly visible.
Lovely bright display of Neo-Clouds stretching from NorthWest to North that was my first NLC of 2010, I think this year has been not good for Noctilucent Clouds, probably one of the worse seasons in my experience. (Possible, this turned out to be one of the fantastic displays of NLC for this season 2010, I am hoping for more of the same in coming this week.)
How Neo-Clouds work?
The sunlight reflects the interwoven cirrus clouds at area of high sky illuminated from the Sun at 6 degrees below the horizon.
