World Cup today :-URUGUAY v Netherlands (Semi-Finals)

See the Sun on the national flag, –  something does with astronomy?

The creators of the flag were inspired by the national colours of Argentina and by the design of American Stars and Stripes  was adopted on 18th February 1812, in these colour were blue and white symbolise the clear skies and snow of the Andes, but the Sun added in 1818.

Why was the Sun added? Because the national symbol of Argentina to appear of the Sun in cloudy skies on 25th May 1810 when the first mass demonstration in favour of independence took place.

So that’s why Uruguay had the creators of the flag were inspired by the national colours of Argentina – it was adopted on 16th December 1828 with nine blue and ten white stripes then 1830 the number of stripes was reduced to four blue and five white – these nine stripes represent the nine original regions of Uruguay with the yellow/gold Sun on the Uruguay flag is a symbol of freedom and independence that the Sun is used as an identify mark for “Sun of May“.
