World Cup today :- Chile  v  SPAIN

At 2,267 metres above sea level (for cloudless, atmospheric turbulence-free skies) on the island of La Palma, on Spain’s Canary Islands that a telescope now holds the title as the world’s largest - The Spanish Gran Telescopio CANARIAS (GTC),  is a reflecting telescope with a primary mirror 10.4 meters (34 feet) in diameter for collecting faint light from distant objects – stars and galaxies in the universe.

The GTC has produced the deepest images of the Milky Way ever seen, with a resolution 60 million times greater than human vision, what it shows, though, is still an unknown – we will need an even sharper telescope to figure it out.

The GTC telescope’s total measurements are around 89 feet high by 43 feet wide that in comparison to the world-famous Hubble Space Telescope’s primary lens is approximately 8 feet in diameter – over four times bigger primary mirror.

Visual on the GTC telescope, you can watch it here .
