World Cup today :- Spain v HONDURAS
Honduras is famous for archaeology, it has one of the Maya Worlds most beautiful!, above this picture – Copan Ruins is located in NorthWest Honduras, near the border with Guatemala.
The Maya civilization spanned a period of 3,000 years and featured a written language, architecture, a well-ordered social class system, agriculture, art, the development of a calendar – Tzolkin.
The Maya year has a basic unit called Kin, a word that means day or sun. The Tzolkin calendar has a cycle of 20 day names combined with a cycle of 13 day numbers. Each of these 20 names has a glyph to represent it by measure passages of time, priests studied the sun, the moon, and Venus.
Maya had a first calendar with 18 months with 20 days plus the last month called Uayeb ~ The days within a month are numbered from 0 to 19 (not 1 to 20) with the exception of Uayeb - The Maya also had a religious calendar which had 260 days in it. Each day was give a name and a number.
