Owl Nebula (Messier 97)
This glowing gas bubble is estimated to be 6,000 years old in the most famous constellation of Ursa Major (The Great Bear).

M97 is the faintest, however it does have some details within the nebula and this makes it interesting – the owner of small telescope can be happy to find and observe the glowing gas bubble, but larger telescope users will look for the “Owl Eyes” two dark regions within the glow that give this nebula its popular name.

See the SkyMap and Star Atlas Chart.
